"Blog Y2 459 - God: Our Refuge and Strength"

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Psalms 46:7.

The God we worship and serve is the one true God who created the heavens and the earth. He is the Lord of hosts, the commander of the armies of angels, whose power and authority are unmatched. No force in heaven or on earth can prevail against Him. It is an incredible assurance, that this mighty God is with us! He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, no matter the storms we face.

As the God of Jacob, He reminds us of His covenant faithfulness. Jacob, despite his shortcomings, was chosen by God and transformed by His grace. In the same way, we too are recipients of God’s unwavering love and mercy. He is our refuge, the place we can run to for safety and strength. He guards us with His wall of fire and commands His angels concerning us, ensuring that no harm comes near us.

The verse ends with the word “Selah,” is often thought to mean “pause,” “think calmly,” or “meditate.” It calls us to stop and ponder the greatness of God—the Lord of hosts who fights for us, and the God of Jacob who is our stronghold. When we truly meditate on these truths, we find peace and confidence in His unshakable presence. Proverbs 18:10 says: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

Reflection: Am I truly trusting in God's unmatched power and faithfulness, seeking refuge in His presence, and meditating on His greatness during life's storms?

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார்; யாக்கோபின் தேவன் நமக்கு உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமானவர்.சேலா. சங்கீதம் 46:7.

        வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்த ஒரே உண்மையான தேவனை நாம் ஆராதிக்கிறோம் சேவிக்கிறோம். அவர் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர், தேவதூதர் சேனைகளின் தளபதி, அவருடைய வல்லமையும் அதிகாரமும் இணையற்றவை. வானத்திலோ பூமியிலோ எந்த சக்தியும் அவரை மேற்கொள்வதில்லை. இந்த வல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் நம்மோடு இருக்கிறார், என்பது ஒரு நம்பமுடியாத உறுதி! நம் வாழ்வில் புயல்கள் போன்ற பிரச்சினைகள் வந்தாலும், ஒருபோதும் நம்மைவிட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை, நம்மைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை என்று அவர் வாக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

        யாக்கோபின் தேவனாக, அவர் தமது உடன்படிக்கையின் உண்மையை நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறார். யாக்கோபிடம் குறைபாடுகள் இருந்தபோதிலும், தேவனால் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு, அவருடைய கிருபையால் மாற்றப்பட்டார். அதுபோலவே நாமும் தேவனின் மாறாத அன்பையும் இரக்கத்தையும் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம். அவரே நமக்கு அடைக்கலம், பாதுகாப்புக்கும் துணைக்கும் நாம் நாடக்கூடிய இடம். அவர் தம்முடைய அக்கினி சுவரால் நம்மைக் காத்து, தம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்கு நம்மை நோக்கிக் கட்டளையிட்டு, எந்தத் தீங்கும் நம்மை நெருங்காதபடி பார்த்துக்கொள்கிறார்.

        இந்த வசனம் "சேலா" என்ற வார்த்தையுடன் முடிவடைகிறது, இது பெரும்பாலும் "நிறுத்து ," "அமைதியாக சிந்தி" அல்லது "தியானி" என்று பொருள்படும் என்று கருதப்படுகிறது. நமக்காக யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிற சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரும், நம்முடைய கோட்டையுமான யாக்கோபின் தேவனுடைய மகத்துவத்தை சிந்திக்க அது நம்மை அழைக்கிறது. இந்த சத்தியங்களை நாம் உண்மையாக தியானிக்கும்போது, அவரது அசைக்க முடியாத பிரசன்னத்தில் சமாதானத்தையும் நம்பிக்கையையும் காண்கிறோம். நீதிமொழிகள் 18:10 சொல்லுகிறது: “கர்த்தரின் நாமம் பலத்த துருகம்; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடிச் சுகமாயிருப்பான்.”

சிந்திக்க: தேவனின் ஒப்பற்ற சக்தியிலும் விசுவாசத்திலும் நான் உண்மையாக நம்பிக்கையுடன் இருந்து, அவரது சன்னிதியில் தஞ்சம் அடைந்து, வாழ்க்கையின் பிரச்சினைகளில் அவரது
