"Blog Y2 472 - Live for God’s Eternal Will"

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17

        This verse reminds us of the temporary nature of the world and everything it offers. The desires, possessions, and pursuits that captivate so many hearts today are fleeting—they are here today and gone tomorrow. Yet, amid this impermanence, God offers us something eternal: life in Him through obedience to His will.

        When our Lord Jesus Christ walked on earth, His entire life was centered on one purpose: fulfilling the will of the Father. From His birth in a humble manger to His ministry of teaching, healing, and loving, and finally to His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus’ heart was always fixed on pleasing God. Even in His most agonizing moments, such as in the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). His life is the perfect example of total surrender and obedience to God’s will.

        As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in His footsteps, living not for ourselves or the fleeting pleasures of this world, but for the will of our heavenly Father. It’s a sobering truth: everything we see around us—wealth, fame, power, and even the natural beauty of this world—will pass away. History is filled with examples of people who had great riches and worldly glory but are no longer here. Their possessions, achievements, and status could not accompany them into eternity.

        Our time in this world is incredibly short when compared to eternity. Each moment is an opportunity to choose what truly matters. Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 7:21: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” 

Reflection: Am I merely professing faith without living it out through obedience to God’s will, or am I aligning my life with His purpose and living for His glory?

உலகமும் அதின் இச்சையும் ஒழிந்துபோம்; தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்கிறவனோ என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருப்பான். 1 யோவான் 2:17

        இந்த வசனம் உலகின் தற்காலிக தன்மையையும் அது வழங்கும் அனைத்தையும் நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறது. இன்று அநேக இருதயங்களைக் கவர்ந்திழுக்கும் ஆசைகளும், உடைமைகளும், நாட்டங்களும் நிலையற்றவை—அவை இன்று இங்கே இருக்கின்றன, நாளை போய்விடுகின்றன. ஆயினும், இந்த நிலையற்ற தன்மைக்கு மத்தியில்,:அவருடைய சித்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவதன் மூலம் அவரில் நமக்கு நித்திய ஜீவனை தேவன் வழங்குகிறார்.

        நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பூமியில் நடந்தபோது, அவருடைய முழு வாழ்க்கையும் ஒரே நோக்கத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தது: பிதாவின் சித்தத்தை நிறைவேற்றுதல். தாழ்மையான தொழுவத்தில் பிறந்ததிலிருந்து, போதனை, குணமாக்குதல் மற்றும் அவரது அன்பின் ஊழியம், இறுதியாக சிலுவையில் அவரது தியாக மரணம் வரை, இயேசுவின் இருதயம் எப்போதும் தேவனைப் பிரியப்படுத்துவதில் நிலைத்திருந்தது. கெத்சமனே தோட்டத்தைப் போன்ற அவரது மிகவும் வேதனையான தருணங்களில் கூட, அவர் ஜெபித்தார், "என் சித்தத்தின்படியல்ல, உம்முடைய சித்தத்தின்படியே ஆகக்கடவது" (லூக்கா 22:42). கடவுளின் சித்தத்திற்கு முழு சரணாகதி மற்றும் கீழ்ப்படிதலுக்கு அவரது வாழ்க்கையே சரியான உதாரணம்.

        கிறிஸ்துவைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாகிய நாம், அவருடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளில் நடக்க அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம், நமக்காகவோ அல்லது இந்த உலகின் தற்காலிக இன்பங்களுக்காகவோ வாழாமல், நமது பரலோக பிதாவின் சித்தத்திற்காக வாழ்கிறோம். இது ஒரு நிதானமான உண்மை: நம்மைச் சுற்றி நாம் காணும் அனைத்தும் - செல்வம், புகழ், சக்தி மற்றும் இந்த உலகின் இயற்கை அழகு கூட - மறைந்துவிடும். பெரும் செல்வங்களையும் உலக மகிமையையும் கொண்டிருந்த மக்களின் உதாரணங்களால் சரித்திரம் நிரம்பியுள்ளது, ஆனால் இப்போது இங்கே இல்லை. அவர்களின் உடைமைகள், சாதனைகள் மற்றும் அந்தஸ்து நித்தியத்திற்கு அவர்களுடன் செல்ல  முடியாது.

        நித்தியத்துடன் ஒப்பிடும்போது இந்த உலகில் நமது நேரம் நம்பமுடியாத அளவிற்கு குறுகியது. ஒவ்வொரு தருணமும் உண்மையில் முக்கியமானதை தேர்ந்தெடுக்க ஒரு வாய்ப்பாக உள்ளது. மத்தேயு 7:21ல் இயேசு தாமே நம்மை எச்சரித்தார்: "பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற என் பிதாவின் சித்தத்தின்படி செய்கிறவனே பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பானேயல்லாமல், என்னை நோக்கிக் கர்த்தாவே! கர்த்தாவே! என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை." 

சிந்திக்க: தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து  அதன்படி வாழாமல் நான் வெறுமனே விசுவாசத்தை அறிக்கையிடுகிறேனா, அல்லது அவருடைய நோக்கத்துடன் என் வாழ்க்கையை சீரமைத்து அவருடைய மகிமைக்காக வாழ்கிறேனா?
