"Blog Y2 489 - Bless Enemies With Grace"

Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. Luke 6:28.

        As human beings, it is difficult to bless those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat and wound us. Yet, these words come directly from the lips of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. This is not a worldly philosophy but a divine command that He not only taught but also lived out perfectly.

        Even when Judas betrayed Him, Jesus still called him “friend.” He did not seek revenge on those who spoke against Him or mistreated Him. Instead, He loved them and prayed for them. At the same time, He was not a people-pleaser. Whenever correction was needed, He gave it with truth and love.

        This kind of love and forgiveness is impossible by our own strength. Only the Holy Spirit can transform our hearts and empower us to bless those who curse us and pray for those who wrong us. And He will surely help us when we ask. Our God never commands us to do something without also giving us the grace to fulfill it. Romans 12:14 says: "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse."

Reflection: Am I extending love and kindness to those who hurt me, responding with humbleness instead of resentment, and allowing the Holy Spirit to shape my heart to reflect Christ’s example?

உங்களைச் சபிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள்; உங்களை நிந்திக்கிறவர்களுக்காக ஜெபம்பண்ணுங்கள். லூக்கா 6:28.

            மனிதர்களாகிய நாம்  நம்மை சபிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிப்பதும், நம்மை துன்புறுத்தி காயப்படுத்துபவர்களுக்காக ஜெபிப்பதும் கடினம். ஆயினும்கூட, இந்த வார்த்தைகள் நமது அன்பான இரட்சகராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் உதடுகளிலிருந்து நேரடியாக வருகின்றன. இது உலகப்பிரகாரமான தத்துவம் அல்ல, அவர் போதித்தது மட்டுமல்லாமல் தாமும் பரிபூரணமாக வாழ்ந்து காண்பித்தார்.

            யூதாஸ் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த போதும், இயேசு அவனை "நண்பன்" என்றே அழைத்தார். அவருக்கு எதிராகப் பேசியவர்களையோ அல்லது அவரை மோசமாக நடத்தியவர்களையோ அவர் பழிவாங்கவில்லை. மாறாக, அவர் அவர்களை நேசித்து அவர்களுக்காக ஜெபித்தார். அதேசமயம், அவர் மக்களை திருப்திப்படுத்துபவராகவும் இருக்கவில்லை. எப்போதெல்லாம் திருத்தம் தேவைப்படுகிறதோ, அப்போதெல்லாம் அவர் அதை உண்மையோடும் அன்போடும் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்தார்.

            இந்த வகையான அன்பும் மன்னிப்பும் நம் சொந்த பலத்தால் சாத்தியமற்றது. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் மட்டுமே நம் இருதயங்களை மாற்றி, நம்மை சபிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும், நமக்கு தீங்கு செய்பவர்களுக்காக ஜெபிக்கவும் நமக்கு உரிய பெலனும், நம்பிக்கையும்  கொடுக்க முடியும். நாம் கேட்கும்போது அவர் நிச்சயம் நமக்கு உதவுவார். நம் தேவன் ஒருபோதும் ஒரு காரியத்தை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கான கிருபையை நமக்குக் கொடுக்காமல் அதைச் செய்யும்படி கட்டளையிடுவதில்லை. ரோமர் 12:14 சொல்லுகிறது: “உங்களைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள்; ஆசீர்வதிக்கவேண்டியதேயன்றி சபியாதிருங்கள்.”

சிந்திக்க: என்னைக் காயப்படுத்தியவர்களுக்கு நான் அன்பையும் இரக்கத்தையும் காண்பித்து, மனக்கசப்புக்குப் பதிலாக தாழ்மைடன் பதிலளித்து, கிறிஸ்துவின் முன்மாதிரியைப் பிரதிபலிக்க பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் என் இதயத்தை உருவாக்க அனுமதிக்கிறேனா?
