"Blog Y2 508 - Jesus Alone is the Way"

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.

With these powerful words, Jesus answered Thomas, His disciple,

        When we know Jesus intimately and personally, we understand that Jesus is the only way to approach God, our Father. Jesus is the Word, who was with God in the beginning. The Word of God is full of spirit and life, and it is only through Jesus’ redeeming power that we can come to our Heavenly Father.

        The reason Jesus is the only way is found in the cross. Sin separates us from God, and no human effort can bridge the gap. But in His love, God provided the way through Jesus, His Son, who bore our sins upon Himself. On the cross, He paid the price we could never pay, enduring the judgment we deserved. His resurrection proved that sin and death were defeated. Now, salvation is freely given to all who believe in Him. It is not through good works, religious rituals, or moral achievements that we are saved, but through faith in Jesus Christ alone. He is the truth that sets us free and the life that makes us new.

        When we pray, God emphasizes that we must come to Him in Jesus Christ's name. In 1 Timothy 2:5, God wants us to approach Him through His Son as a mediator. In John 14: 13 Jesus says, “ And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”  Jesus Christ is the ultimate channel to God. Acts 4:12 says: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Reflection: Am I recognizing Jesus as the only true way to approach God, trusting in His sacrifice and power to bring me to the Father, and relying on Him alone for salvation and new life?

அதற்கு இயேசு: நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலேயல்லாமல் ஒருவனும் பிதாவினிடத்தில் வரான். யோவான்14:6.

இந்த வல்லமையான வார்த்தைகளால், இயேசு தம்முடைய சீஷனாகிய தோமாவுக்கு பதிலளித்தார்,

            நாம் இயேசுவை நெருக்கமாகவும் தனிப்பட்ட முறையிலும் அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய தேவனை அணுகுவதற்கான ஒரே வழி இயேசுவே என்பதை நாம் புரிந்துகொள்கிறோம். இயேசு வார்த்தை, அவர் ஆரம்பத்தில் தேவனுடன் இருந்தார். தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை ஆவியாலும் ஜீவனாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது, இயேசுவின் மீட்கும் வல்லமையால் மட்டுமே நாம் நமது பரலோக பிதாவிடம் வர முடியும்.

            இயேசுவே ஒரே வழி என்பதற்கான காரணம் சிலுவையில் காணப்படுகிறது. பாவம் நம்மை தேவனிடமிருந்து பிரிக்கிறது, எந்த மனித முயற்சியும் இடைவெளியை இணைக்க முடியாது. ஆனால் அவருடைய அன்பினால், நம்முடைய பாவங்களைத் தன்மேல் சுமந்த குமாரனாகிய இயேசு மூலமாக தேவன் வழியை ஏற்படுத்தினார். சிலுவையில், நாம் ஒருபோதும் செலுத்த முடியாத விலையை அவர் செலுத்தினார், நமக்குத் தகுதியான நியாயத்தீர்ப்பைச் சகித்தார். அவருடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதலால் பாவமும் மரணமும் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டது என்பது  நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டது. இப்போது, அவரை விசுவாசிக்கிற அனைவருக்கும் இரட்சிப்பு இலவசமாக கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. நற்கிரியைகள், மத சடங்குகள் அல்லது தார்மீக சாதனைகள் மூலம் நாம் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவதில்லை, ஆனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவில் விசுவாசத்தின் மூலம் மட்டுமே இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிறோம் . அவரே நம்மை விடுதலையாக்கும் சத்தியமும், நம்மைப் புதிதாக்குகிற ஜீவனுமாகும்.

            நாம் ஜெபிக்கும்போது, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் நாமத்தினாலே நாம் அவரிடம் வர வேண்டும் என்பதை தேவன் வலியுறுத்துகிறார். 1 தீமோத்தேயு 2:5-ல், ஒரு மத்தியஸ்தராக அவருடைய குமாரன் மூலமாக நாம் அவரை அணுக வேண்டும் என்று தேவன் விரும்புகிறார். யோவான் 14:13ல் இயேசு, "நீங்கள் என் நாமத்தினாலே எதைக் கேட்பீர்களோ, குமாரனில் பிதா மகிமைப்படும்படியாக, அதைச் செய்வேன்." என்கிறார்.  இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவே தேவனிடம் செல்வதற்கான இறுதி வழி. அப்போஸ்தலர் 4:12 கூறுகிறது: "அவராலேயன்றி வேறொருவராலும் இரட்சிப்பு இல்லை, நாம் இரட்சிக்கப்படும்படிக்கு வானத்தின் கீழெங்கும், மனுஷர்களுக்குள்ளே அவருடைய நாமமேயல்லாமல் வேறொரு நாமம் கட்டளையிடப்படவும் இல்லை."

சிந்திக்க: தேவனை அணுகுவதற்கான ஒரே உண்மையான வழியாக  இயேசுவை நான் அங்கீகரித்து, என்னை பிதாவிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்க அவருடைய தியாகத்தையும் வல்லமையையும் நம்பி, இரட்சிப்பிற்கும் புதிய ஜீவனுக்கும் அவரை மட்டுமே சார்ந்திருக்கிறேனா?
