"Blog Y2 524 - Pray for Pure in Heart"

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8.

        When we distance ourselves from Jesus, the light (John 9:5), we limit His brilliance in our lives. In contrast, when we intentionally draw near to God, His presence undeniably illuminates our hearts and minds, revealing our true condition and purifying our souls. Embracing His light is essential for transformation, guiding us with clarity and renewal.

        A heart can only be truly pure when the Holy Spirit takes full control. While we may strive for outward purity of our body, keeping our hearts clean is far more challenging. The greatest battles occur in our minds. Even in prayer, if we approach God with an unclean heart, He will not hear us. As it is written, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” (Psalm 66:18).

        Holiness is not something we can achieve through our own efforts; it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can be made pure. We all long to experience His glorious presence. Therefore, let us ask God to sanctify our hearts so that we may become vessels of His holiness and love. 2 Timothy 2:22 says: “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Reflection: Am I actively nurturing my relationship with God so that my inner self is renewed and cleansed by the Spirit’s guidance, especially during my internal struggles?

            பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் முழு ஆளுகை செய்யும்போது மட்டுமே ஒரு இருதயம் உண்மையிலேயே தூய்மையாக இருக்க முடியும். நம் சரீரத்தின் வெளித்தூய்மைக்காக நாம் முயற்சி செய்தாலும், நம் இதயத்தைச் சுத்தமாக வைத்துக்கொள்வது மிகவும் சவாலானது. மிகப்பெரிய போராட்டங்கள் நம் மனதில் நிகழ்கின்றன. ஜெபத்திலும்கூட, நாம் அசுத்த இருதயத்துடன் தேவனை அணுகினால், அவர் நமக்குச் செவிசாய்க்க மாட்டார். எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே, "என் இருதயத்தில் அக்கிரமசிந்தை கொண்டிருந்தேனானால், ஆண்டவர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடார்." (சங்கீதம் 66:18).

            பரிசுத்தம் என்பது நமது சொந்த முயற்சியால் நாம் அடையக்கூடிய ஒன்று அல்ல; பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் வல்லமையால் மட்டுமே நாம் தூய்மைப்படுத்தப்பட முடியும். அவருடைய மகிமையான பிரசன்னத்தை அனுபவிக்க நாமெல்லாரும் ஏங்குகிறோம். ஆகையால், நாம் அவருடைய பரிசுத்தம் மற்றும் அன்பின் பாத்திரங்களாக மாறும்படி நமது இருதயங்களை பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தும்படி தேவனிடம் ஜெபிப்போம். 2 தீமோத்தேயு 2:22 சொல்லுகிறது: “அன்றியும், பாலியத்துக்குரிய இச்சைகளுக்கு நீ விலகியோடி, சுத்த இருதயத்தோடே கர்த்தரைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறவர்களுடனே, நீதியையும் விசுவாசத்தையும் அன்பையும் சமாதானத்தையும் அடையும்படி நாடு.”
