"Blog Y2 539 - Make Room for His Glory"

And He said to them, ‘It is written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer,” but you have made it a “den of thieves.  Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. Matthew‬ ‭21‬:‭13,14.

Our Lord Jesus often began His statements with the words “It is written,” signifying that what He declared was already firmly established in God’s Word, confirmed, and unchanging.

When Jesus walked on the earth and entered the Jerusalem temple, He witnessed people turning the house of God into a marketplace. His righteous anger rose up as He remembered the sacred purpose of the temple. He saw that it had become a place of business, leaving no room for the broken, the lame, the blind, the hurting, and those who were truly in need of healing and restoration.

In response, Jesus drove out all those who misused the temple, clearing out the marketplace. And what followed? The very people who had been excluded, the sick, the lame, the children, came into the temple. Jesus healed them, and the children sang praises to Him. The temple returned to its true purpose: a place where God’s presence was revealed and His glory made known.

In the same way, God calls our bodies the temple of the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus cleansed the physical temple, we too must cleanse our lives, removing all sin, impurity, and anything that hinders God from using us for His glory. We must not allow our bodies or our churches to become " dens of thieves.”

Instead, we are called to examine what must be driven out and what must be welcomed in. We must open the doors of our hearts and our churches to those who are broken and seeking healing. Only then will the glory of God be revealed in us and through us. Let us be a house of prayer, not just in name, but in spirit and truth. Isaiah 56:7 says: “For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Reflection: Am I treating my life and body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, allowing God to cleanse me, so I may reflect His glory and welcome the broken with love?

நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு அடிக்கடி தாம் பேசும்பொழுது "எழுதியிருக்கிறது" என்ற வார்த்தைகளுடன் தொடங்கினார். இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறியிருப்பது, இது தேவனுடைய வசனத்தில் ஏற்கனவே உறுதியாக நிலைத்திருப்பதாகவும், உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டதாகவும், மாறாததாகவும் இருக்கிறது என்பதை குறிக்கிறது.

இயேசு பூமியில் சஞ்சரித்து எருசலேம் ஆலயத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தபோது, மக்கள் தேவனுடைய வீட்டை சந்தையாக மாற்றியதைக் கண்டார். ஆலயத்தின் பரிசுத்தமான  நோக்கத்தை அவர் நினைவுகூர்ந்தால் அவருடைய நீதியின் கோபம் எழுந்தது. மனமுடைந்தவர்களுக்கும், சப்பாணிகளுக்கும், குருடருக்கும், காயப்பட்டவர்களுக்கும், சுகமும்  மறுசீரமைப்பும்  தேவைப்படுபவர்களுக்கும் இடமில்லாமல், இருப்பதை அவர் கண்டார்.

இதைப் பார்த்த இயேசு, ஆலயத்தைத் தவறாகப் பயன்படுத்திய எல்லாரையும் துரத்திவிட்டு, சந்தைவெளியை சுத்தம் செய்தார். அப்புறம் என்ன நடந்தது? விலக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், நோயாளிகள், நொண்டிகள், குழந்தைகள் என எல்லோரும் கோவிலுக்குள் வந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைக் குணமாக்கினார், பிள்ளைகள் அவரைப் புகழ்ந்து பாடினார்கள். ஆலயம் அதன் உண்மையான நோக்கத்திற்குத் திரும்பியது: தேவனுடைய பிரசன்னம் வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டு அவருடைய மகிமை வெளிப்பட்டது.

அதுபோலவே, தேவன் நம் சரீரங்களை பரிசுத்த ஆவியினவரின் ஆலயம் என்று அழைக்கிறார். இயேசு சரீரப்பிரகாரமான ஆலயத்தை சுத்திகரித்தது போல, நாமும் நம் வாழ்க்கையை சுத்திகரிக்க வேண்டும், எல்லா பாவங்களையும், அசுத்தத்தையும், தேவன் தம்முடைய மகிமைக்காக நம்மை பயன்படுத்துவதைத் தடுக்கும் எதையும் நீக்க வேண்டும். நமது சரீரங்களோ, சபைகளோ திருடர்களின் கூடாரங்களாக மாற நாம் அனுமதிக்கக் கூடாது.

மாறாக, எதை விரட்ட வேண்டும், எவற்றை வரவேற்க வேண்டும் என்பதை ஆராய நாம் அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம். நொறுங்குண்டவர்களுக்கும் சுகமடைய விரும்புகிறவர்களுக்கும் நமது இருதயங்கள் மற்றும் நமது சபைகளின் கதவுகளை நாம் திறக்க வேண்டும். அப்போதுதான் தேவனுடைய மகிமை நமக்குள்ளும் நம் மூலமாகவும் வெளிப்படும். பெயரளவில் இல்லாமல், ஆவியினாலும் சத்தியத்தினாலும், ஜெப வீடாக இருப்போமாக. ஏசாயா 56:7 சொல்லுகிறது: “என்னுடைய வீடு சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் ஜெபவீடு என்னப்படும்.”

சிந்திக்க: நான் என் வாழ்க்கையையும் உடலையும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் ஆலயமாக பாவித்து, தேவன் என்னை சுத்திகரிக்க அனுமதித்து, அதனால் நான் அவருடைய மகிமையை பிரதிபலித்து, மனமுடைந்தவர்களை அன்பினால் வரவேற்கிறேனா?
