"Blog Y2 560 - Thirsting for Living Water"

But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14.

Physically, we will continue to thirst again and again because our bodies need water; we are made up of nearly 80% water. It is essential for our physical well-being.

But in this verse, Jesus is speaking of living water, the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit takes control of our lives and flows into our souls, we no longer thirst for the worldly pleasures that pull us away from God. After Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.

However, it is our responsibility to drink this living water by inviting Him into our hearts. The Holy Spirit is gentle. He never forces Himself on anyone. But if we are truly thirsty, we must call upon Him and ask Him to fill us and take full control of our lives. And when we do, He will surely come and dwell in us, guiding, refreshing, and empowering us from within. Hallelujah! John 7:38 says: “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Reflection: Am I truly inviting the Holy Spirit, the Living Water, into my heart each day, or am I still trying to satisfy my thirst with the temporary pleasures of this world that leave me empty?

நான் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கிறவனுக்கோ ஒருக்காலும் தாகமுண்டாகாது; நான் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீர் அவனுக்குள்ளே நித்தியஜீவகாலமாய் ஊறுகிற நீரூற்றாயிருக்கும் என்றார். யோவான் 4:!4.

உடல் ரீதியாக, நம் உடலுக்கு தண்ணீர் தேவைப்படுவதால் நாம் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் தாகமாக இருப்போம்; நாம் கிட்டத்தட்ட 80% தண்ணீரால் ஆனவர்கள். இது நமது உடல் நலனுக்கு அவசியம்.

ஆனால் இந்த வசனத்தில், இயேசு பரிசுத்த ஆவியாகிய ஜீவ தண்ணீரைப் பற்றி பேசுகிறார். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் நம் வாழ்க்கையைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தி, நம் ஆத்துமாக்களில் வழிந்தோடும்போது, நம்மை தேவனிடமிருந்து விலக்கி இழுக்கும் உலக இன்பங்களுக்காக நாம் இனி தாகமடைவதில்லை. இயேசு மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிர்த்தெழுந்து பரலோகத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போன பிறகு, நமக்குள் வாசம் பண்ணும்படி பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரை அனுப்பினார்.

இருப்பினும், இந்த ஜீவத்தண்ணீரை நமது இருதயங்களுக்குள் அழைப்பதன் மூலம் குடிக்க வேண்டியது நமது பொறுப்பு. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் மென்மையானவர். அவர் ஒருபோதும் தன்னை யார் மீதும் திணிப்பதில்லை. ஆனால் நாம் உண்மையிலேயே தாகமாக இருந்தால், நாம் அவரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, நம்மை நிரப்பவும், நம் வாழ்க்கையை முழுமையாகக் கட்டுப்படுத்தவும் அவரிடம் கேட்க வேண்டும். நாம் அவ்வாறு செய்யும்போது, அவர் நிச்சயமாக நம்முள்ளே வந்து வாசம் செய்து, நம்மை வழிநடத்தி, புதுப்பித்து, அதிகாரம் அளிப்பார். அல்லேலூயா! யோவான்7:38 சொல்லுகிறது: “வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லுகிறபடி என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து ஜீவத்தண்ணீருள்ள நதிகள் ஓடும் என்றார்”

சிந்திக்க: நான் உண்மையிலேயே ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஜீவ தண்ணீராகிய  பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரை என் இருதயத்திற்குள் அழைக்கிறேனா, அல்லது என்னை வெறுமையாக விட்டுச்செல்லும் இந்த உலகின் தற்காலிக இன்பங்களுடன் என் தாகத்தை பூர்த்தி செய்ய முயற்சிக்கிறேனா?
