"Blog Y2 590 - Intimate Walk with God"

Your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. Acts 10:31.

What a beautiful promise God is giving us today! We all desire for our prayers to be answered. Many times, we enter God’s presence with a list of requests, much like a grocery list, trusting that He will respond. And yes, without a doubt, God is faithful to hear us. But before we present our requests, let us pause and examine our hearts: What is God expecting from us?

When we think about Cornelius, the Scripture describes him as: “A devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.” Acts 10:2. Cornelius worshipped God together with his whole household. Unlike some who only call on God in times of trouble, Cornelius lived in constant communion with the Lord. 

Our loving God, who answers prayers, desires more than just a list of needs; He longs for an intimate relationship with us. He is looking for surrendered hearts, consistent worship, and lives filled with love, generosity, and reverence. Let us offer ourselves fully to Him first, and then we can expect to see great and mighty things from Him. Psalm 34:15 says: "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry."

Reflection: Am I seeking a deeper connection with God beyond my needs, offering my heart and life fully, or am I only turning to Him when I want something? 

உன் ஜெபம் கேட்கப்பட்டது, உன் தானதருமங்கள் தேவசந்நிதியில் நினைத்தருளப்பட்டது. அப்போஸ்தலர் 10:31.

இன்று தேவன் நமக்கு எவ்வளவு அருமையான வாக்குறுதியைத் தருகிறார்! நம்முடைய ஜெபங்கள் கேட்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நாம் அனைவரும் விரும்புகிறோம். பலமுறை, நாம் தேவனுடைய சந்நிதிக்குள் ஒரு மளிகைப் பட்டியல் போல, கோரிக்கைகளின் பட்டியலுடன் செல்கிறோம், அவர் பதிலளிப்பார் என்று நம்புகிறோம். ஆம், சந்தேகத்திற்கு இடமின்றி, தேவன் நமக்குச் செவிகொடுக்க உண்மையுள்ளவர். ஆனால் நாம் நம் கோரிக்கைகளை முன்வைக்கும் முன், சற்று நின்று நம் இருதயங்களைச் சோதிப்போம்: தேவன் நம்மிடமிருந்து என்ன எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்?

கொர்நேலியுவைப் பற்றி நாம் சிந்திக்கும்போது, வேதாகமம் அவரை இவ்வாறு விவரிக்கிறது: "அவன் தேவ பக்தியுள்ளவனும் தன் வீட்டாரனைவரோடும் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்தவனுமாயிருந்து, ஜனங்களுக்கு மிகுந்த தருமங்களைச் செய்து, எப்பொழுதும் தேவனை நோக்கி ஜெபம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்." அப்போஸ்தலர் 10:2. கொர்நேலியு தன் வீட்டாரனைவரோடும் சேர்ந்து தேவனைத் தொழுதுகொண்டான். கஷ்ட காலங்களில் மட்டுமே தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிற சிலரைப் போலல்லாமல், கொர்நேலியு கர்த்தரோடு இடைவிடாத ஐக்கியத்தில் வாழ்ந்தான்.

ஜெபங்களுக்குப் பதிலளிக்கும் நம்முடைய அன்பான தேவன், தேவைகளின் பட்டியலை விட,  அவர் நம்மோடு நெருங்கிய உறவை நாடுகிறார். அவர் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்ட இருதயங்களையும், தொடர்ச்சியான ஆராதனையையும், அன்பு, தாராள குணம் மற்றும் மரியாதை நிறைந்த வாழ்க்கையையும் தேடுகிறார். நாம் முதலில் நம்மை முழுமையாக அவருக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போம், அதன் பிறகு அவரிடமிருந்து பெரிய மற்றும் வல்லமையான காரியங்களைக் காண எதிர்பார்ப்போம். சங்கீதம் 34:15 சொல்லுகிறது: “கர்த்தருடைய கண்கள் நீதிமான்கள்மேல் நோக்கமாயிருக்கிறது; அவருடைய செவிகள் அவர்கள் கூப்பிடுதலுக்குத் திறந்திருக்கிறது.

சிந்திக்க: என் தேவைகளுக்கு அப்பால் தேவனுடன் ஆழமான தொடர்பை நான் தேடி, என் இதயத்தையும் வாழ்க்கையையும் முழுமையாக அவருக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கிறேனா, அல்லது நான் எதையாவது விரும்பும்போது மட்டுமே அவரிடம் திரும்புகிறேனா?
