"Blog Y2 620 - "Joy Comes In His Time"

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. Luke 1:14.

True joy and gladness come only from being in the presence of God and from the blessings He graciously gives. As Proverbs 10:22 reminds us, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” God’s blessings are pure, peaceful, and free from sorrow.

Zechariah and Elizabeth had waited many years for their prayer to be answered. Though the answer came late in human eyes, it arrived at God’s perfect time before the birth of Jesus Christ. Their long-awaited blessing brought them deep joy, not only for themselves, but also for many others who rejoiced with them.

In the same way, we too may be praying and waiting for a long time. But remember: God’s delays are not His denials. He will answer at the appointed time. When He does, it will bring a joy we’ve never experienced before, a joy that fulfills His purpose in and through our lives.

Waiting on the Lord is never a wasted time. He uses the waiting to prepare our hearts and align us with His will. And when the time is right, He will bless us abundantly for His glory and our good. Luke 1:58 says: “When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her.”

Reflection: Am I trusting the timing set for me, believing that what I wait for in prayer will bring deep joy and bless others when it unfolds according to His perfect and gracious plan?
