Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end. Psalm 119:33.
This verse is both a prayer and a promise to God. Our Lord delights in teaching us and directing us on the right path. But on our side, we must humbly ask Him to teach us.
God has already sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in us, to guide us into all truth, and to direct us in the way we should go. The world also teaches us many things, some may appear pleasant and good for the moment, but in the end, they lead to disaster.
When the Holy Spirit teaches us, He leads us into the right path that brings us to eternal life. Just like the psalmist, we too should pray earnestly for God to teach us, while committing ourselves to obey His statutes with a sincere heart. And not only for a short while, but faithfully until our very last breath. Psalm 119:112 says: "I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, to the very end."
Reflection: Am I seeking wisdom from Him daily, and am I faithfully committing myself to follow the path He shows me, not just for a season but until the very end of my life?
கர்த்தாவே, உமது பிரமாணங்களின் வழியை எனக்குப் போதியும்; முடிவுபரியந்தம் நான் அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுவேன். சங்கீதம் 119:33.
இந்த வசனம் ஒரு ஜெபமாகவும், தேவனுக்கு நாம் கொடுக்கும் வாக்குறுதியாகவும் உள்ளது. நம்முடைய தேவன் நமக்குக் கற்பிப்பதிலும், சரியான பாதையில் வழிநடத்துவதிலும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறார். ஆனால், நாம் தாழ்மையுடன் அவரிடம் போதிக்கக் கேட்க வேண்டும்.
நமக்குள்ளே வாசம்பண்ணவும், சகல சத்தியத்திற்குள்ளும் நம்மை வழிநடத்தவும், நாம் செல்ல வேண்டிய பாதையில் நம்மை வழிநடத்தவும் தேவன் தமது பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரை ஏற்கெனவே நமக்கு அனுப்பியுள்ளார். உலகமும் நமக்கு பல காரியங்களைக் கற்பிக்கிறது, அவற்றில் சில இன்பமாகவும், இப்போதைக்கு நல்லதாகவும் தோன்றலாம், ஆனால் முடிவில் அவை பேரழிவுக்கு வழிவகுக்கும்.
பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் நமக்குக் கற்பிக்கும்போது, நித்திய ஜீவனுக்கு நம்மை வழிநடத்தும் சரியான பாதையில் அவர் நம்மைக் கொண்டு செல்கிறார். சங்கீதக்காரனைப் போலவே, நாமும் தேவனிடம் நமக்குக் கற்பிக்கும்படி ஆர்வத்துடன் ஜெபிக்க வேண்டும். மேலும், அவருடைய பிரமாணங்களை உண்மையுள்ள இருதயத்துடன், ஒரு குறுகிய காலத்திற்கு மட்டுமல்லாமல், நம்முடைய கடைசி மூச்சுவரை உண்மையுடன் கீழ்ப்படிய நம்மை அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும். சங்கீதம் 119:112 சொல்லுகிறது: "முடிவுபரியந்தம் இடைவிடாமல் உம்முடைய பிரமாணங்களின்படி செய்ய என் இருதயத்தைச் சாய்த்தேன்."
சிந்திக்க: நான் தினமும் தேவனிடமிருந்து ஞானத்தைத் தேடி ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட காலத்திற்கு மட்டுமல்ல, என் வாழ்வின் கடைசிவரை அவர் எனக்குக் காட்டும் பாதையைப் பின்பற்ற நான் உண்மையுடன் என்னைப் அர்ப்பணிக்கிறேனா?
