Blog Y3 675 - "Heirs of God’s Promise"

Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 28:14.

The promises given to Abraham are also for us, because the same God who called Abraham has called us and made us his descendants through faith. This promise belongs to us as well. We are the beloved children of God, loved with His unfailing and unconditional love. Yet just as the dust spreads everywhere, God has promised to multiply and bless our descendants.

The words, “In you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed,” find their ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ, the promised Seed of Abraham and Jacob. Through Christ, the blessing of salvation is not limited to Israel but extends to the Gentiles. The apostle Paul confirms this in Galatians 3:14, saying, “that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” This means that no matter where we come from, what our background is, or what family we belong to, we are now included in God’s plan of redemption.

Let us believe and rejoice that we are children of God, heirs of Abraham, and inheritors of this great promise through Jesus Christ our Lord. Galatians 3:29 says: “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Reflection: Am I truly living with the awareness that, through faith in Christ, I am an heir of Abraham’s blessing, included in God’s great plan of redemption, and called to reflect His unfailing love to the world?

உன் சந்ததி பூமியின் தூளைப்போலிருக்கும்; நீ மேற்கேயும், கிழக்கேயும், வடக்கேயும், தெற்கேயும் பரம்புவாய்; உனக்குள்ளும் உன் சந்ததிக்குள்ளும் பூமியின் வம்சங்களெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும். ஆதியாகமம் 28:14.

ஆபிரகாமுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் நமக்கும் உரியவை. ஏனெனில், ஆபிரகாமை அழைத்த அதே தேவன் நம்மை அழைத்தார், விசுவாசத்தின் மூலம் நம்மை அவருடைய சந்ததியினராக்கினார். இந்த வாக்குறுதி நமக்கும் சொந்தமானது. நாம் தேவனுடைய பிரியமான பிள்ளைகள், அவருடைய மாறாத, நிபந்தனையற்ற அன்பினால் நேசிக்கப்படுகிறோம். தூள் எங்கும் பரவுவதுபோல, தேவன் நம் சந்ததியைப் பெருகவும், ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும் வாக்களித்துள்ளார்.

“உனக்குள்ளும் உன் சந்ததிக்குள்ளும் பூமியின் வம்சங்களெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும்” என்ற வார்த்தைகள், ஆபிரகாம் மற்றும் யாக்கோபுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட சந்ததியான இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவில் முழுமையாக நிறைவேறுகின்றன. கிறிஸ்து மூலமாக, இரட்சிப்பின் ஆசீர்வாதம் இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு மட்டும் அல்ல, புறஜாதியாருக்கும் நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் கலாத்தியர் 3:14-ல் இதை உறுதிப்படுத்தி, “ஆபிரகாமுக்கு உண்டான ஆசீர்வாதம் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினால் புறஜாதியாருக்கு வரும்படியாகவும், ஆவியைக் குறித்த வாக்குத்தத்தம் விசுவாசத்தினாலே நமக்குக் கிடைக்கும்படியாகவும் இப்படியாயிற்று” என்று கூறுகிறார். இதன் பொருள், நாம் எந்த இடத்திலிருந்து வந்தாலும், நம் பின்னணி எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், அல்லது எந்த குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களாக இருந்தாலும், நாம் இப்போது தேவனுடைய மீட்பின் திட்டத்தில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம்.

நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகள், ஆபிரகாமின் வாரிசுகள், மற்றும் நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மூலம் இந்த மகத்தான வாக்குறுதியின் சுதந்தரர்கள் என்பதை விசுவாசித்து மகிழ்வோம். கலாத்தியர்3:29  சொல்லுகிறது: “நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவினுடையவர்களானால், நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாராயும், வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின்படியே சுதந்தரராயும் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.”

சிந்திக்க: கிறிஸ்துவில் உள்ள விசுவாசத்தின் மூலம், நான் ஆபிரகாமின் ஆசீர்வாதத்திற்கு ஒரு வாரிசு, தேவனுடைய மகத்தான மீட்பின் திட்டத்தில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டவன், மேலும் அவருடைய மாறாத அன்பை உலகிற்கு பிரதிபலிக்க அழைக்கப்பட்டவன் என்ற விழிப்புணர்வுடன் நான் வாழ்கிறேனா?
