Blog Y3 697 - "Living to Please God"

So Samuel said: ‘Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22.

Pleasing God is the foremost purpose of our lives. It brings true delight to His heart when His children walk in obedience. We often spend our days trying to please the people of this world, acting according to their expectations, seeking their approval, and hoping for their appreciation. Yet no matter how hard we try, human hearts are never fully satisfied.

But our loving Father is different. He speaks to us clearly through His Word: “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” What He desires most is not our outward rituals, gifts, or performances, but our sincere obedience that flows from love and trust. “Yes, Lord, I will do as You say.” That simple obedience brings Him the greatest delight.

To please God, we don’t need to perform extraordinary acts or bring costly offerings. He simply asks us to listen to His voice, follow His leading, and walk closely with Him every day. When we maintain a deep and personal relationship with Him, we begin to recognize His gentle voice guiding our steps.

When we choose to obey, whether in small things or great things, God’s presence goes with us. He strengthens us to fulfill His will, and His peace fills our hearts. True obedience is the highest form of worship, for it reveals our love, humility, and devotion toward Him.

Let us then make it our daily desire, not to seek human approval, but to please our God through humble obedience, walking faithfully in His ways.

Reflection: Am I more concerned about gaining people’s approval than bringing joy to God’s heart, or am I walking each day in simple obedience that shows my love and trust in Him?

தேவனைப் பிரியப்படுத்துவதே நம்முடைய வாழ்க்கையின் முதன்மையான நோக்கம். அவருடைய பிள்ளைகள் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடக்கும்போது, அது அவருடைய இருதயத்திற்கு உண்மையான மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொண்டுவருகிறது. நாம் அடிக்கடி நம்முடைய நாட்களை இந்த உலகத்திலுள்ள மனிதர்களைப் பிரியப்படுத்தவும், அவர்களுடைய எதிர்பார்ப்புகளுக்கு ஏற்றவாறு செயல்படவும், அவர்களுடைய அங்கீகாரத்தைத் தேடவும், அவர்களுடைய பாராட்டை எதிர்பார்க்கவும் செலவிடுகிறோம். ஆயினும், நாம் எவ்வளவு முயற்சி செய்தாலும், மனித இருதயங்கள் ஒருபோதும் முழுமையாகத் திருப்தியடைவதில்லை.

ஆனால் நம்முடைய அன்புள்ள பிதா வித்தியாசமானவர். அவர் தமது வார்த்தையின் மூலம் தெளிவாக நம்மிடம் பேசுகிறார்: "பலியைக் காட்டிலும் கீழ்ப்படிதலே உத்தமம்." அவர் மிகவும் விரும்புவது நம்முடைய வெளிப்படையான சடங்குகள், ஈவுகள் அல்லது செயல்பாடுகள் அல்ல, மாறாக அன்பு மற்றும் நம்பிக்கையிலிருந்து வெளிவரும் நம்முடைய உண்மையான கீழ்ப்படிதலே ஆகும். "ஆம், ஆண்டவரே, நீர் சொல்வதைச் செய்வேன்." இந்த எளிய கீழ்ப்படிதலே அவருக்குப் பெரிய மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொண்டுவருகிறது.

தேவனைப் பிரியப்படுத்த, நாம் பெரிய செயல்களைச் செய்யவோ அல்லது விலையுயர்ந்த காணிக்கைகளைக் கொண்டுவரவோ தேவையில்லை. அவர் நம்முடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்கவும், அவருடைய வழிநடத்துதலைப் பின்பற்றவும், ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் அவரோடு நெருங்கி நடக்கவும் மட்டுமே கேட்கிறார். நாம் அவரோடு ஆழமான மற்றும் தனிப்பட்ட உறவைப் பராமரிக்கும்போது, நம்முடைய அடிகளை வழிநடத்தும் அவருடைய மென்மையான சத்தத்தை நாம் இனங்கண்டு அறியத் தொடங்குகிறோம்.

நாம் சிறிய காரியங்களிலோ அல்லது பெரிய காரியங்களிலோ கீழ்ப்படியத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளும்போது, தேவனுடைய பிரசன்னம் நம்முடன் செல்கிறது. அவருடைய சித்தத்தை நிறைவேற்ற அவர் நம்மைப் பலப்படுத்துகிறார், மேலும் அவருடைய சமாதானம் நம்முடைய இருதயங்களை நிரப்புகிறது. உண்மையான கீழ்ப்படிதலே ஆராதனையின் மிக உயர்ந்த வடிவமாகும், ஏனெனில் அது அவரிடத்திலுள்ள நம்முடைய அன்பு, தாழ்மை மற்றும் பக்தி­யை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.

ஆகவே, மனித அங்கீகாரத்தைத் தேடுவதை விட்டுவிட்டு, தாழ்மையான கீழ்ப்படிதல் மூலம் நம்முடைய தேவனைப் பிரியப்படுத்துவதும், அவருடைய வழிகளில் உண்மையுடன் நடப்பதும், நம்முடைய அன்றாட விருப்பமாக மாற்றுவோம்.

சிந்திக்க: நான் தேவனுடைய இருதயத்திற்கு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிப்பதைவிட, மக்களின் அங்கீகாரத்தைப் பெறுவதில் அதிக அக்கறை காட்டாமல், ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் என்னுடைய அன்பையும் நம்பிக்கையையும் தேவனிடம் வெளிப்படுத்தி, அவருக்கு கீழ்ப்படிந்து  நடக்கிறேனா?
