Blog Y3 704 - "Trust in the Unchanging God"

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8.

This verse reminds us of two kinds of trust: trusting in man and trusting in God.

Trusting in man is like depending on passing clouds that appear for a moment and then vanish. People may speak kindly, promise much, and even seem powerful, but their strength and influence are temporary. Man’s life is fragile; one day he is here, and the next, he passes away. His name, fame, and all that he built soon fade into the dust of time. Even the most influential person in this world cannot be our sure foundation, for every human being is limited and changeable. We cannot entirely depend on anyone who has breath, for no man can control his tomorrow.

But when we place our trust in the Lord, it becomes a trust that will never be shaken. God is eternal, unchanging, and perfectly faithful. His Word stands firm forever, and every promise He makes is true. He never speaks a word that He will not fulfill. Unlike men who may fail us, our God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. Even if the whole world trembles and everything around us falls apart, God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Those who trust in Him will never be put to shame. His faithfulness is our security, His promises are our anchor, and His love is our everlasting peace. Therefore, it is far better to place all our confidence, hope, and expectation in the Lord, our unshakable Rock and eternal Refuge.

Reflection: Am I placing my full confidence in the Lord who never changes, or am I leaning on fragile human strength that fades away like passing clouds and cannot sustain me in times of need?

மனுஷனை நம்புவதைப்பார்க்கிலும், கர்த்தர் பேரில் பற்றுதலாயிருப்பதே நலம். சங்கீதம் 118:8.

இந்த வசனம் இரண்டு வகையான நம்பிக்கையைப் பற்றி நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறது: மனுஷனை நம்புவது மற்றும் தேவனை நம்புவது.

மனுஷனை நம்புவது என்பது ஒரு கணம் தோன்றி, பின்னர் மறைந்துபோகும் கடந்துசெல்லும் மேகங்களைச் சார்ந்து இருப்பதைப் போன்றது. மனிதர்கள் அன்பாகப் பேசலாம், நிறைய வாக்குறுதி அளிக்கலாம், ஏன், வல்லமை படைத்தவர்களாகக் கூடத் தோன்றலாம். ஆனால், அவர்களுடைய பெலனும் செல்வாக்கும் தற்காலிகமானவை. மனுஷனுடைய வாழ்க்கை நிலையற்றது; ஒரு நாள் அவன் இங்கே இருக்கிறான், அடுத்த நாள் அவன் கடந்துபோகிறான். அவனுடைய பெயரும், புகழும், அவன் கட்டிய அனைத்தும் காலத்தின் தூசியில் விரைவில் மங்கிவிடுகின்றன. இந்த உலகில் மிகவும் செல்வாக்கு மிக்க மனிதன் கூட நம்முடைய உறுதியான அஸ்திபாரமாக இருக்க முடியாது, ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் குறையுள்ளவனும், மாறக்கூடியவனுமே. சுவாசமுள்ள எவரையும் நாம் முழுமையாகச் சார்ந்து இருக்க முடியாது, ஏனென்றால் ஒரு மனிதனும் தன்னுடைய நாளைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாது.

ஆனால், நாம் நம்முடைய நம்பிக்கையை கர்த்தர்மேல் வைக்கும்போது, அது ஒருபோதும் அசைக்க முடியாத நம்பிக்கையாகிறது. தேவன் நித்தியமானவர், மாறாதவர், மற்றும் முற்றிலும் உண்மையுள்ளவர். அவருடைய வார்த்தை என்றென்றும் உறுதியாக நிற்கிறது, மேலும் அவர் கொடுக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு வாக்குறுதியும் உண்மை. அவர் நிறைவேற்றாமல் போகும் ஒரு வார்த்தையையும் அவர் பேசுவதில்லை. நம்மை கைவிட்டு விடக்கூடிய மனிதர்களைப் போலல்லாமல், நம்முடைய தேவன் பொய் சொல்ல ஒரு மனிதனும் அல்ல, மனம்மாற அவர் ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அல்ல. முழு உலகமே நடுங்கினாலும், நம்மைச் சுற்றியுள்ள அனைத்தும் சரிந்தாலும், தேவன் நேற்றும், இன்றும், என்றென்றும் மாறாமல் இருக்கிறார்.

அவர்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் வெட்கப்பட்டுப் போவதில்லை. அவருடைய உண்மைத்தன்மை நம்முடைய பாதுகாப்பு; அவருடைய வாக்குறுதிகள் நம்முடைய நங்கூரம்; அவருடைய அன்பு நம்முடைய நித்திய சமாதானம். ஆகையால், நம்முடைய எல்லா நம்பிக்கையையும், எதிர்பார்ப்பையும் நம்முடைய அசைக்க முடியாத கன்மலையும் நித்திய அடைக்கலமுமாகிய கர்த்தர்மேல் வைப்பதே மிகச் சிறந்தது.

சிந்திக்க: கடந்துசெல்லும் மேகங்களைப் போல மறைந்துபோகும், மேலும் தேவைப்படும் காலங்களில் என்னைத் தாங்க முடியாத நிலைகுலைந்த மனித பெலத்தை நான் சார்ந்து இருக்காமல், மாறாத கர்த்தர்மேல் என்னுடைய முழு நம்பிக்கையை வைக்கிறேனா?
