Blog Y3 743 - "Guided by Immanuel’s Presence"

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us. Matthew 1:23.

God revealed Himself to Joseph by the name JESUS, the One who saves His people from their sins. But to us, God introduces His Son as IMMANUEL God with us. What a deep, heart-filling comfort this name carries! The mighty, omnipotent, eternal God chooses not to stay far away… He chooses to be with us.

There are times in life when people may surround us, yet we still feel alone. Sometimes our hearts are overwhelmed, our minds are troubled, and our strength is gone. But in those very moments, the Holy Spirit gently reminds us:

“He is Immanuel. You are not alone.”

God being with us means: He walks with us in every season, whether, mountaintops or in valleys. He carries us when we are too weak to walk. He comforts us when our hearts ache, and no one understands. He guides us when we don’t know which way to go. He protects us when the battles are fierce. He surrounds us with His presence even when we don’t feel Him.

Our feelings may change, but His presence never changes.
Our circumstances may shake, but His promise stands firm:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Immanuel is not just a Christmas name.

It is God’s eternal covenant name with us, His children.
From our first breath to our last… from this world into eternity…
He is with us.
The mighty Warrior, our loving Father, is with us, for us, and in us.  So we can face every day with confidence:

Reflection: Am I trusting that I am never abandoned, allowing His nearness to steady my heart and guide my steps even when my feelings shift, or circumstances unsettle me?

இதோ, ஒரு கன்னிகை கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாள்; அவருக்கு இம்மானுவேல் என்று பேரிடுவார்கள் என்று சொன்னான். இம்மானுவேல் என்பதற்கு தேவன் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார் என்று அர்த்தமாம். மத்தேயு 1:23. 

தேவன் யோசேப்புக்குத் தம்மை இயேசு என்ற நாமத்தினால் வெளிப்படுத்தினார். அதாவது, தம்முடைய மக்களை அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களிலிருந்து இரட்சிப்பவர். ஆனால் நமக்கு, தேவன் தம்முடைய குமாரனை இம்மானுவேல் — தேவன் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார் — என்று அறிமுகப்படுத்துகிறார். இந்த நாமம் எவ்வளவு ஆழமான, இருதயத்தை நிரப்பும் ஆறுதலை அளிக்கிறது! சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள, நித்திய தேவன் வெகு தூரத்தில் இருக்கத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்காமல்... அவர் நம்மோடிருக்கத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறார்.

வாழ்க்கையில் சில சமயங்களில் மக்கள் நம்மைச் சுற்றி இருந்தாலும், நாம் தனிமையாக உணரும் நேரங்கள் உண்டு. சில சமயங்களில் நம் இருதயங்கள் பாரமாகி, நம்முடைய மனது கலக்கமடைந்து, நம்முடைய பலம் அற்றுப்போகலாம். ஆனால், அதே தருணங்களில், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் மெதுவாக நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறார்:

“அவர் இம்மானுவேல். நீ தனியாக இல்லை.”

தேவன் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார் என்றால்: மலை உச்சிகளிலோ அல்லது பள்ளத்தாக்குகளிலோ, அவர் ஒவ்வொரு காலத்திலும் நம்மோடு நடந்து வருகிறார். நாம் நடக்கக்கூட பலமில்லாமல் இருக்கும்போது அவர் நம்மைச் சுமக்கிறார். நம்முடைய இருதயங்கள் வேதனைப்படும்போது, யாரும் புரிந்து கொள்ளாதபோது அவர் நம்மை ஆறுதல்படுத்துகிறார். எந்த வழியில் செல்வது என்று நமக்குத் தெரியாதபோது அவர் நம்மை வழிநடத்துகிறார். போர்கள் கடுமையாக இருக்கும்போது அவர் நம்மைக் காக்கிறார். நாம் அவரை உணராத போதும் அவர் தம்முடைய பிரசன்னத்தினால் நம்மைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கிறார்.

நம்முடைய உணர்வுகள் மாறலாம், ஆனால் அவருடைய பிரசன்னம் ஒருபோதும் மாறாது. 
நம்முடைய சூழ்நிலைகள் ஆட்டம் காணலாம், ஆனால் அவருடைய வாக்குறுதி உறுதியாக நிற்கிறது: 
“நான் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை, உன்னைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை.”

இம்மானுவேல் என்பது கிறிஸ்துமஸுக்கான ஒரு பெயர் மட்டுமல்ல. 

இது அவருடைய பிள்ளைகளாகிய நம்மோடு தேவன் செய்த நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையின் பெயராகும். 
நம்முடைய முதல் மூச்சு முதல் நம்முடைய கடைசி மூச்சு வரை... இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்து நித்தியம் வரை... அவர் நம்மோடு இருக்கிறார்.
ஆகவே, நாம் ஒவ்வொரு நாளையும் நம்பிக்கையோடு எதிர்கொள்ளலாம்: 
வல்லமையுள்ள போர் வீரரும், நம்முடைய அன்புள்ள பிதாவுமானவர் நம்மோடு, நமக்காக, மற்றும் நமக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறார்.

சிந்தனை: என் உணர்வுகள் மாறும்போது அல்லது சூழ்நிலைகள் என்னைக் கலங்கடிக்கும்போதும் அவருடைய அருகாமை என் இருதயத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தவும் என் அடிகளை வழிநடத்தவும் நான் அனுமதித்து,  நான் ஒருபோதும் கைவிடப்படவில்லை என்று நான் நம்புகிறேனா?
