Blog Y3 750 - "His Name Brings Salvation"

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 

When God sent Jesus into this world, He did not come only to give us hope; He also came to remove every fear and doubt from our hearts. At that time, Joseph was troubled and confused. He was planning to leave Mary quietly because he did not understand God’s plan. But our loving God intervened. He clearly explained the truth to Joseph through the angel and removed all his doubts.

In the same way, we may also experience fear, confusion, or guilt because of our sins. Sometimes we feel unworthy. Sometimes we carry heavy burdens of shame. But today God is speaking the same message to us: Jesus came to save us from our sins.

His very name, JESUS, is a divine declaration. The name Jesus means “The Lord is Salvation” or “Yahweh saves.”

This name was not chosen by Joseph. It was not chosen by Mary. It was chosen by God Himself because the mission of the Son was already determined; He was destined to give His life to save His people from their sins. Salvation is not only what He does, but it is who He is.

Through this precious name: Our fears are removed. Our doubts are settled. Our guilt is washed away. Our identity is restored. Our relationship with God is made new.

This is the heart of Christmas: God sent His Son, named Jesus, because saving us was the very purpose of His coming.

Reflection: Am I trusting who Jesus is for me, allowing His given name to quiet my troubled heart, renew my worth, and draw me daily into restored closeness with God?

தேவன் இயேசுவை இந்த உலகத்திற்கு அனுப்பியபோது, அவர் நமக்கு நம்பிக்கையை கொடுக்க மட்டுமல்ல; நம் இருதயத்திலுள்ள எல்லா பயத்தையும் சந்தேகத்தையும் நீக்கவும்தான் வந்தார். அந்தக் காலத்தில், யோசேப்பு குழப்பமடைந்து கவலையுற்றிருந்தார். அவர் தேவனுடைய திட்டத்தைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளாததால், மரியாவை இரகசியமாக விட்டுவிடத் திட்டமிட்டிருந்தார். ஆனால் நம்முடைய அன்பான தேவன் தலையிட்டார். அவர் தூதன் மூலமாக யோசேப்புக்கு சத்தியத்தை தெளிவாக விளக்கி, அவனுடைய எல்லா சந்தேகங்களையும் நீக்கினார்.

அதேபோல, நம்முடைய பாவங்களின் நிமித்தம் நாமும் பயம், குழப்பம், அல்லது குற்ற உணர்வு ஆகியவற்றை அனுபவிக்கலாம். சில சமயங்களில் நாம் தகுதியற்றவர்களாக உணர்கிறோம். சில சமயங்களில் நாம் வெட்கத்தின் பாரமான சுமைகளைச் சுமக்கிறோம். ஆனால் இன்று தேவன் அதே செய்தியை நமக்குச் சொல்லுகிறார்: இயேசு நம்மை நம்முடைய பாவங்களிலிருந்து இரட்சிக்க வந்தார்.

அவருடைய பெயரே, இயேசு, ஒரு தெய்வீக பிரகடனம் ஆகும். இயேசு என்ற பெயருக்கு, “கர்த்தரே இரட்சிப்பு” அல்லது “யெகோவா இரட்சிக்கிறார்” என்று பொருள்.

இந்த பெயரை யோசேப்பு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவில்லை. மரியாள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவில்லை. குமாரனுடைய பணி ஏற்கனவே தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததால், தேவனே இந்தப் பெயரைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார்; அவர் தம்முடைய ஜனங்களின் பாவங்களிலிருந்து அவர்களை இரட்சிப்பதற்காகத் தம்முடைய ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்க நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார். இரட்சிப்பு என்பது அவர் செய்வது மட்டுமல்ல, அது அவரேதான்.

இந்த விலையேறப்பெற்ற பெயரின் மூலமாக: நம்முடைய பயங்கள் நீக்கப்படுகின்றன. நம்முடைய சந்தேகங்கள் தீர்க்கப்படுகின்றன. நம்முடைய குற்றவுணர்வு கழுவப்படுகிறது. நம்முடைய அடையாளம் மீட்டெடுக்கப்படுகிறது. தேவனோடுள்ள நம் உறவு புதுப்பிக்கப்படுகிறது.

இதுவே கிறிஸ்துமஸின் மையம்: நம்மை இரட்சிப்பதே அவருடைய வருகையின் முதன்மையான நோக்கம் என்பதால், தேவன் தம்முடைய குமாரனை, இயேசு என்று பெயரிட்டு அனுப்பினார்.

சிந்திக்க: இயேசுவுக்கு  கொடுக்கப்பட்ட இயேசு என்ற நாமம் என் கலக்கமடைந்த இருதயத்தை அமைதிப்படுத்தவும், என் தகுதியைப் புதுப்பிக்கவும், ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் தேவனோடு மீட்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட நெருக்கத்திற்குள் என்னை இழுக்கவும் நான் அனுமதித்து,  இயேசு என்னுடையவர் என்று நான் நம்புகிறேனா?
