Blog Y3 755 - "Walking Christlike Humility"

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5–7. 

We may appear humble outwardly, but our attitude and thoughts are far more important. True humility begins in the mind and the heart.

God Himself has set the perfect example of humility through Jesus Christ. Jesus was the Prince of Heaven, the beloved Son of God. He possessed all authority and power in heaven and on earth. Nothing was lacking for Him; He enjoyed the fullness of glory with the Father.

Yet, when He came to this earth, everything changed. He humbled Himself completely. His humility began when He entered Mary's womb and continued throughout His earthly life, all the way to the cross. He willingly laid aside His glory and took the form of a servant. In no situation did He ever display pride or assert His superiority.

Jesus has left His footprints for us to follow. Now He calls us to walk in the same humility. He expects us to be like Him.

When we are humble in our minds, humility will naturally be reflected in our words and actions.

Reflection: Am I choosing a lowly mindset like Christ's, allowing my inner thoughts to shape gentle words and selfless actions so that my life reflects His example rather than hidden pride?

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலிருந்த சிந்தையே உங்களிலும் இருக்கக்கடவது; அவர் தேவனுடைய ரூபமாயிருந்தும், தேவனுக்குச் சமமாயிருப்பதைக் கொள்ளையாடின பொருளாக எண்ணாமல், தம்மைத்தாமே வெறுமையாக்கி, அடிமையின் ரூபமெடுத்து, மனுஷர் சாயலானார். பிலிப்பியர் 2:5–7.

நாம் வெளிப்படையாகத் தாழ்மையுள்ளவர்களாகத் தோன்றலாம், ஆனால் நம்முடைய மனப்பாங்கும் எண்ணங்களும் அதைவிட மிக முக்கியமானவை. உண்மையான தாழ்மை மனதிலிருந்தும் இருதயத்திலிருந்தும் தொடங்குகிறது.

தேவன் தாமே இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மூலம் தாழ்மைக்கு ஒரு சிறந்த முன்மாதிரியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளார். இயேசு பரலோகத்தின் இளவரசராகவும், தேவனுடைய அன்புக்குரிய குமாரனாகவும் இருந்தார். அவர் வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் சகல அதிகாரத்தையும் வல்லமையையும் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவருக்கு ஒரு குறையும் இருந்ததில்லை; அவர் பிதாவோடு மகிமையின் நிறைவை அனுபவித்து வந்தார்.

ஆனாலும், அவர் இந்த பூமிக்கு வந்தபோது எல்லாம் மாறியது. அவர் தம்மைத்தாமே முற்றிலும் தாழ்த்தினார். மரியாளினுடைய கர்ப்பத்தில் அவர் பிரவேசித்தபோதே அவருடைய தாழ்மை தொடங்கியது, அது சிலுவை வரை தொடர்ந்தது. அவர் மனமுவந்து தமது மகிமையைத் துறந்து, ஒரு ஊழியக்காரனின் (அடிமையின்) ரூபத்தை எடுத்தார். எந்தச் சூழ்நிலையிலும் அவர் பெருமையைக் காட்டவில்லை அல்லது தனது மேன்மையை வலியுறுத்தவில்லை.

இயேசு நாம் பின்பற்றுவதற்காகத் தமது அடிச்சுவடுகளை விட்டுச் சென்றிருக்கிறார். அதே தாழ்மையுடன் நடக்கும்படி அவர் இப்போது நம்மை அழைக்கிறார். நாம் அவரைப் போலவே இருக்க வேண்டுமென்று அவர் எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.

நாம் நம்முடைய மனதளவில் தாழ்மையாய் இருக்கும்போது, அந்தத் தாழ்மை இயல்பாகவே நம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளிலும் செயல்களிலும் வெளிப்படும்.

சிந்திக்க: மறைவான பெருமையை வெளிப்படுத்துவதை விட, கிறிஸ்துவின் முன்மாதிரியைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும் வகையில் மென்மையான சொற்களையும் தன்னலமற்ற செயல்களையும் என் உள்ளான எண்ணங்கள் உருவாக்க அனுமதித்து, கிறிஸ்துவைப் போன்ற ஒரு தாழ்மையான மனப்பான்மையை நான் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறேனா?
