Blog Y3 808 - "Waiting With a Quiet Heart"
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us. Psalm 123:2.
This is the way we must live.
We are only human. There is nothing we can do by ourselves. Our very breath is in God’s hands. The Lord has already told us in John 15:5, “Without Me you can do nothing.” One word from His mouth created everything; if He were to speak another word, everything would come to an end.
Everything we have and everything we need must come from God. Yes, Satan may offer worldly pleasures and temporary blessings, but they will never last. The gifts that come from God are perfect, pure, and permanent.
- Just as a servant watches the hand of his master, eager to please and gain favor.
- Just as a maid waits attentively for her mistress’s instruction, ready to respond immediately, so our hearts must wait upon the Lord.
In time, a good master cares for his servants and responds to their needs. How much more will our loving Father care for us?
Let our eyes not be fixed on God merely to keep asking and asking. Instead, let us diligently seek Him, to know His heart, to understand His will, and to obey His commands. When we live in obedience and intimacy with Him, even before we ask, our Father knows and graciously provides all that we need.
May our eyes always look to the Lord our God, waiting, trusting, obeying until He shows us His mercy.
Reflection: Do you look toward God with quiet expectation, resting your thoughts in Him as you wait for the mercy He delights to show you?

Our hearts wait on you lord!we are eager to please you ,for your grace !
